The French town of Souillac and the regions of Lot and Regard provide an excellent variety of activities for both adults and children to enjoy.

WATER ACTIVITIES

Qurey Land - Located no longer than 2 minutes walk from Maison de Guittard is Qurey Land, which is the regional aqua park. The park comprises of four swimming pools, water slides, outdoor children's play activities and an excellent restaurant and bar.

Copeyre - Again located 2 minutes walk from the Maison, Copeyre is an organisation that provides canoeing and kayaking tours of the Dordogne for all the family. These trips are not to be missed and are extremely popular with all visitors to the area.

Cycling

Copeyre also offers a bike hire facility in order that you can use a variety of transport to investigate the region. Local maps can be obtained at the local tourist office and in the Maison de Guittard House Companion Pack.

Fishing

There are an abundance of lakes and rivers scattered through the Dordogne region offering trout and course fishing, particularly between Souillac and Saint Crete.

Walks

This are of France is renowned for its countryside and beautiful climate making the region and ideal location for walking tours.

Sports Activities

Within 5 minutes walking distance from Maison de Guittard a variety of sporting venues can be accessed, from tennis, to rugby, soccer and show jumping.

Skiing

If skiing is more your thing then Super Lioran is about 2 hours away as is Andora and The Pyrenees which offer skiing to match the Alps!

Shopping

There is excellent shopping both in the town of Souillac itself but if you are looking for something a little more cosmopolitan, Brive is 15 mins by car that has all the shops that you could hope for - a very lovely boutique style centre, with larger discount stores surrounsing the outskirts. There is plenty of parking and eateries to fill in the lunch hour with pleasure!
